Water Plant Inauguration post Hudhud Cyclone

The United Way India team inaugurated on February 12th, 2016 a water treatment plant aimed at providing safe drinking water at a minimal cost of 2 rps per 20 litres to inhabitants of 2 villages in the Vizianagaram District of Andhra Pradesh. Before that, they were forced to drink saline sea contaminated water, or buy purified water from neighboring villages at a high cost.

Hudhud, a severe cyclonic storm that hit the Andrah Pradesh coast in October 2014, caused extensive damage and took the lives of 124 people.
