Over the years, people from Kolar (Karnataka) have been in dire straits from drinking contaminated water, with higher level of fluoride and nitrates, causing skeletal and severe dental fluorosis.
As a response, United Way Bengaluru installed 4 industrial size RO units, to ensure 4000 people meet their drinking and cooking needs. By January end, people here will have access to clean potable water. This initiative will hope to resolve the various issues pertaining to their health and reduce or hopefully eliminated the cost of water bought through tankers.
